U.S. Congressman Brian Mast (FL-21) has introduced the No Funds for Gaza Act in response to President Joe Biden's plan to construct a port in Gaza. Mast's legislation aims to prevent the Administration from using American taxpayer dollars to rebuild the Gaza Strip, which he believes would benefit Hamas.

"Not a penny of American tax dollars should rebuild terrorist infrastructure in Gaza," stated Rep. Mast. He criticized President Biden for prioritizing the interests of "far-left, pro-Hamas activists" over supporting the Jewish people and Israel. Mast expressed concern that Biden's actions are aiding Hamas, stating, "For Hamas, the only hope of survival is Joe Biden."

Richard Kozul-Wright, a United Nations official, estimated that the reconstruction effort in Gaza would cost $20 billion. President Biden announced during his State of the Union Address that the United States would contribute to these efforts by funding the construction of a port in Gaza, which is expected to involve tens of millions of dollars and over 1,000 U.S. military personnel.

The article also highlighted the ongoing security concerns in Gaza, where American hostages are held by Hamas, and the presence of a complex tunnel network operated by the terrorist organization. In February 2024, the Israeli Defense Forces uncovered a Hamas data center beneath the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in Gaza. It is feared that any new infrastructure built by the U.S. government would primarily benefit this terrorism network.
