Port St. Lucie Calls for Artists to Honor Veterans with Public Art Installation

The City of Port St. Lucie has issued a call for artists to create a new monument honoring American military veterans through a public art installation. The artwork, to be made of granite, will depict scenes from various conflicts, providing a perspective from a service member's viewpoint.

According to the announcement, the selected artist or team must have experience in creating site-specific art installations and be capable of collaborating with a multi-disciplinary project team. The art piece is intended to be a signature element in the community, offering a space for reflection and tribute to the sacrifices made by veterans.

Interested artists can find full details, project goals, qualifications, and submission guidelines in the Request for Qualifications. The deadline for proposals is April 3, 2024. Submissions should be compiled into a single PDF file and sent via email to Anna Talarico at anna@designinglocal.com.

For further information on the Public Art Master Plan, individuals can visit CityofPSL.com/Art.
